Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen coming to DS and PSP

Considering that another all-action monstrous metal Transformers blockbuster is due for release this summer, it's little surprise that Activision has announced it will once again step into place as the custodian of the game tie-in.

The significant news however is that Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is in development for both DS and PSP (alongside five console versions - and no doubt a Glu-published mobile version too).

Activision's in-house experts at Vicarious Visions will be developing the DS version; and as with the previous Transformers: Autobots and Decepticons game, there will be two releases depending on if you want to play the good or the bad campaigns. Savage Entertainment will reprise its PSP duties from where it left off with Transformers: The Game.

As for the overall premise, this time the ongoing war between the Autobots and Decepticons will climax in Egypt over the Great Pyramid of Giza. Returning characters include the likes of Optimus Prime, Bumblebee and Ratchet, while new forms are rumoured to include the multi-parted Devastator and The Fallen.

New Final Fantasy XIII Trailer Released

Now that the countdown on the official Final Fantasy XIII website is over, Square Enix unveiled a new trailer there for the highly anticipated RPG. It's not just some lame ass teaser with logos and brief cut scene clips, either - it's got gameplay footage, too.

Not to say that the cut scene clips don't look great, too. There's enough robots and ultraviolence here to sate even the most jaded fanboy. It certainly succeeds at the basic motive of a trailer, which is to get you pumped up about a project.

Unfortunately, it'll be a long time before we get our hands on this game in North America or Europe. According to Square Enix President Yoichi Wada, we probably won't get it until April 2010 at the earliest. It will be released for PS3 in Japan this year but will appear on both the Xbox 360 and PS3 once it finally makes its debut in the West.

PSP hits Europe with Trio of New Colors

Times are tough and Sony knows that if it wants to sell PSP's (Believe me they want to sell some badly) they had better try some new tricks to entice buyers. And what could make the consumer want you more? Sony thinks that it’s all in the colors.

Sony is releasing the European PSP in three new colors to compliment the Carnival Colors we covered just a week ago. You’ll be able to get your PSP in Radiant Red, Mystic Silver and Pearl White. They might be trying a little too hard. Those color names sound like stripper names for Eighty-year-olds. In fact, I’m pretty sure Pearl White starred on The Golden Girls.

Sony has confirmed that the silver and white versions will be available this month, but you’ll have to wait until March to get the Radiant Red version.
